Guided tour of the Durestal Maquis
Guided Tours of the Tourist OfficeThis unique and unusual site will plunge you into the daily life of the maquis and the history of its resistance fighters hidden in the heart of the department's thick forests.
A reconstruction, based on historical accounts, of one of the most emblematic maquis in Périgord, a veritable ‘town in the woods’. The huts are made of strips of wood and include a dormitory, kitchen, ammunition bunker and even a prison, all of which are as striking as the real thing.
